Obama needs to ignore the dumbass GOP congresspeople who are bitching and moaning about every single thing in the stimulus package, even though these same people helped CAUSE the mess in the first place with their misguided and destructive ideology. The GOP governors KNOW how bad it is in the real world, and if Obama is going to be "post-partisan," he needs to quit kowtowing to the idiots in Congress and work with the governors instead.
As Lyons points out, the GOP congresspeople pulled the same crap on Bill Clinton back in the 1990s. They haven't changed one iota, for all they care about is the fortunes of their party rather than the future of the country.
One of the reasons I doubted Obama in the first place was because of his constant talking about "reaching across the aisle" with people who will NEVER do it and in fact will do everything in their power to politically sabotage him and the country.
Democratic senators also need to change the rules governing filibusters so people like Mitch McConnell can't hold up needed legislation.
