and fake concern about women who "opt" out of glamorous, male-dominated fields like math and science (while at the same time these same elites constantly belittle traditional female careers like teaching and nursing) because they decide they want to stay home and raise families or prefer to work in less "intensive" fields.
I mean, who gives a SHIT about a tiny number of elite women and their "career" choices? I feel like I am in a goddamned time warp and it is 1970 all over again, reading propaganda women should pursue male-dominated fields because these jobs were higher paid and better because males did them; i.e., the Caroline Bird philosophy. Here we have a world economy that is on the brink of total collapse, with millions and millions of ORDINARY women who are not graduates of Hahvahd and other elite colleges and with modest backgrounds who are facing financial ruin and homelessness. Where is the concern for THEM?
As much as I support feminist goals and have for 40 years, feminists were ALWAYS fucked up with their overwrought concern about the tiny numbers of elite women, for most of the prominent feminists were and are from that same elite, and they had and still have a "blind spot" when it comes to the concerns of ordinary women.
