Finance geniuses who find themselves out of work are stupidly taking crash courses in education hoping to land that "easy" job in the public school system.
They have no goddamned idea what they are getting themselves into. Private sector work, with all of its numerous flaws, has nothing on public schools when it comes to horrendous and unethical administrators, discrimination and other civil rights violations, corruption, and general assholery. Private sector work isn't that bad, regular governmental work isn't that bad, nonprofit work isn't that bad, private schools aren't even that bad to work for if one doesn't mind starving to death.
Considering most of the people in the article are over 40 years of age, they can expect at some point to be targeted for dismissal if they are somehow unlucky enough to have a bad administrator. It takes only one to ruin a career.
I hate to see people go into this field knowing what I know now about it. It should be about the kids, but tragically it isn't.
