Arne has an editorial expressing his total ignorance of teacher evaluation systems, and doesn't understand that people can receive shitty evals if they don't get along with a particular administrator. Given the fact so many school districts have incompetent and even corrupt administrators, this would worsen the problem.
It's more "blame the teachers" crap from an idiot who is not an educator.
The public does not understand the real dynamics of school districts. There is NO accountability or oversight whatsoever in school districts; school boards are not in the business of accountability or oversight. Administrators have total control over schools and teachers. When people understand the inequity in the system, then real reform can happen, but it won't when people do not even understand the problem. I suggest people go to the NAPTA site and read everything there. It is shocking what is happening in public education, and, with NCLB, the abuse is getting worse.
Arne continues to spew more ignorant shit.
And still more shit about charter schools.
However, unless or until public school districts are truly held accountable for their actions, including teaching abuse, and there be true oversight of districts to keep them honest, alternatives to public education will continue to thrive.
