This one is kind of a shocker: The so-called "King of Pop," Michael Jackson, 50, has died. He was in a deep coma after suffering a cardiac arrest and then pronounced dead.
He was attempting a comeback after years of lurid headlines, lawsuits, and bad health.
I am probably the only person in the country who believes he didn't engage in any child molestation, although his sleepovers were a little bit strange and opened himself up to lawsuits and criminal investigations.
Obviously there will be many more details.
Here is a YouTube of one of his big hits, "Beat It."
Here is a live version I can post of the song:
Jackson had such a horrible, tragic life, even more tragic than Elvis Presley.
Andrew Sullivan agrees with me about MJ's tragic life.
Some clips of Jackson's death are here.
