Nobody is taking seriously inclusion of dental care, especially major dental care, as part of the health insurance reform debate. There are occasionally stories in the media about people who have died because of untreated dental problems.
Well, most dental insurance is for routine cleanings and checkups, the things people, at least those who are still working, can most afford. But any major problems, such as periodontal problems, like yours truly has, and you can just about forget it. I probably have tens of thousands of dollars in dental work I need done, and there is no way to do it.
By the way, it isn't just about kids; older people need it far more.
