The voters tossed Gray Davis on his ass over the state's mess, but Arnold Schwarzenegger has not been able to reverse course. The state may well be unfixable. If it is, then the entire country is hopeless.
As for Gavin Newsom, he doesn't have a chance in hell; his big mouth about same-sex marriage guaranteed it.
