Since districts from all over the country are trashing teachers right and left and then whining about how they can't find enough "qualified" teachers to fill the openings, they are turning to overseas applicants to be hired and spit out in a few years.
Interesting the columnist mentions Jaime Escalante. He is also prominently featured at the National Association for the Prevention of Teacher Abuse website, with an article mentioning he, too, was shit upon by administrators.
