Again, Obama Isn't Doing Much at All About

the jobs crisis in the country; if he did he would be reversing three decades worth of Friedmanite economics:

Perhaps the most remarkable expression of concern came from economist Paul Krugman, a columnist for the New York Times who has been a fervent supporter of Obama’s health care plan. He took note of Obama’s comments to Fox News about the danger of growing federal deficits, then observed: “It took me a while to puzzle this out. But the concerns Mr. Obama expressed become comprehensible if you suppose that he’s getting his views, directly or indirectly, from Wall Street.”

Krugman has blurted out the real social base of the Obama administration. Obama, Emanuel, Geithner & Co. echo the views of bankers and speculators because that is whom they represent and serve. Obama heads an administration of, by and for the most powerful financial interests.

This is not a government of reform that is being led astray by right-wing pressure, or can be pushed to the left by counter-pressure from below. It is a government of social and political reaction.

Those of us who observed Obama on the campaign trail felt he was a tool of Wall Street. What else could be the explanation for the obscene amount of money he raised in the primary and general election campaigns? It wasn't all small donors.

Hi Susan,

Hope you are doing OK. I keep forgetting my sign on id/password for this site to comment.

Just wanted to send you this;

http://trueslant.com/matttaibbi/2009/11/23/yes-sarah-there-is-a-media-conspiracy/

It is a great analysis of how the media operates. I find it depressing how liberals are cheering on the media treatment of Palin. I predict in a year's time Obama will be getting the Palin treatment from the media.

Also wanted to say I agree with you completely about the gay marriage issue. A complete loser for Democrats.

Thank, Mary Louise, for the comment. I was wondering what happened to you. I really wish liberals and so-called "progressives" would lay off attacking Sarah Palin. I think a lot of the animosity towards her stems from the fact she had a Down syndrome child and didn't do the politically correct thing and have an abortion. After all, she was a career woman who had several children and had a husband willing to take care of her children while she was governor. I find the attitude towards her young son very disturbing. Some are still peddling the garbage that appeared in Daily Kos that Sarah isn't the mother of the Down syndrome baby. Sickening.

Gay marriage is such a loser for Democrats. I don't believe it will be legal nationwide ever, given the diversity of viewpoints throughout the country. The courts aren't about to offend huge sectors of the population and legalize it throughout the country. But, as the Maine vote shows, voters even in so-called tolerant states don't want it. Many people who vote against SSM support gay rights and domestic partnerships, but when it comes to the "m" word, they are skittish. As I have written, I blame the GLBT community for a lot of this negative reaction; they just don't have any political sense.

I hope to hear from you again, Mary Louise.
