hunger or "food insecurity" has risen among the American public, the elite from the "think tanks" pooh-pooh the idea, trying to say the problem isn't very serious.

Anything so they don't have to have their taxes increased, which is what is going to have to happen.

By the way, these people no doubt subscribe to what Ronald Reagan once said in a speech October 27, 1964:

We were told four years ago that 17 million people went to bed hungry every night. Well, that was probably true. They were all on a diet.
