out of abortion being cut out of any kind of health care reform package.
Basically, both parties are tossing a bone to the Catholic vote, not the religious right so much, as the former is a far bigger voting bloc and traditionally was a big bloc with Democrats at least until Roe v. Wade.
Now a person has to be a fool to think the situation would be any different if Hillary Clinton were president. Abortion would still be cut out of any health care reform legislation. This hero worship of politicians really needs to stop.
The plain fact is abortion would NEVER be included in any kind of health care reform package, even single payer, in this country given how polarizing the issue of abortion is with millions of people.
The problem with the health care reform deal is it isn't real reform as long as private insurance companies call the shots. At bottom no reform is ever going to happen without public financing of elections.
