The Education Wars: Obama and NCLB

Unfortunately, forming a third party won't do jack shit bit of good; it takes decades for a viable third party to take hold. This isn't going to happen--ever.

What needs to be done is to wrest the Democratic Party from the neoliberals who pushing it to the cliff.

It is horrifying to see a so-called "Democrat" push charters and privatization of public education, the cornerstone of democracy. One wonders what in the hell happened to the Democratic Party.

In education, we have a steroidal version of NCLB taking form, with RTTT and the LEARN [sic] Act, which pick up steam toward privatization and the cognitive sterilization of children as young as 3. And unending testing, pay-per-score plans, and teacher deprofessionalization.

You know what I wrote about on this blog some two years ago about Obama being a ringer and of the media relentlessly pushing him over other candidates. Now we are reaping what we are sowing.
