Now Weingarten is a good example of why I often rail against the teachers' unions, but not for the same reasons the wingnuts do. It's because they are often ineffective--by design--and are often in bed with the districts in order to survive politically.
And ignoramus Bob Herbert thinks Weingarten's ideas of shafting teachers on evaluations is all hunky-dory.
This is a columnist who gets major bucks to spew about things he knows nothing about.
Let's make all teachers at-will employees, and then watch the wrongful termination lawsuits skyrocket. People just don't understand tenure does NOT protect teachers as much as it protects school districts from lawsuits resulting from ADMINISTRATOR misconduct against teachers.
But, as yours truly has detailed in this blog, asshole and moronic administrators still shitcan teachers illegally, and all with the blessing of the taxpayers who subsidize the administrator misconduct.
