More Details Have Emerged Regarding the Knoxville, Tennessee

shootings of an elementary school principal and assistant principal:

School system officials said today they received an anonymous e-mail in November warning them that Foster might be dangerous.

McIntyre said officials checked out those concerns, that the tipster wouldn't meet with investigators and that they found nothing that justified firing Foster.

"We took these allegations very seriously, and we did our homework," the superintendent said.

"What was found was family issues, some disputes over property lines and a few people who really didn't like Mark Foster.

"What was not found was any evidence of a crime or any indication that Mark Foster represented an imminent threat."

There is a lot more in that report, including the fact the principal had considered calling security before telling Foster his contract was not being renewed but changed her mind, much to her later grief.
