Yet another television great has died: John Forsythe, 92, who starred in television's night time soap opera Dynasty, and, more memorable to me, I guess, in the 1950s sitcom Bachelor Father, of cancer.
He was also a fixture at many prominent horse racing events.
Here is an Archive of American Television interview with him, the first one of five parts.
Forsythe's dad hated FDR, but he loved him.
Like a lot of actors who played ladies' men on the screen, Forsythe was extremely dysfunctional in his personal life, having had a long, long, long, long marriage of over 50 years. His first marriage was brief but he had a son from that one, but in 1943 married again and stayed that way for decades and had two daughters. After his second wife, Julie, died in 1994, Forsythe married a third time.
