Racing great Personal Ensign, who went through her entire racing career undefeated, has died at Claiborne Farm at the age of 26. She had been pensioned as a broodmare since 2006 after a successful career in that realm.
One of the best races ever was the 1988 Breeders' Cup Distaff where Personal Ensign seemed to be completely out of contention but somehow prevailed over 1988 Kentucky Derby winner Winning Colors.
It's worth watching again:
