pretty much exposed the reality of what it is going on in American politics and in the media.
Fox makes up a tale about a government servant, and the White House falls for the lie hook, line, and sinker without the official being allowed to present her side. Then, when the truth comes out, the administration tries to play CYA.
The fact this White House goes out of its way to appease the right is reason enough to not want Obama as the Democratic nominee in 2012. Democrats need to be Democrats and not servants to the same elite the GOP serves.

You know, this type of thing didn't just start yesterday. Do you know who was principally instrumental in masterminding the "Willie Horton/furlough" campaign that so many say led to Dukakis' defeat, following his stunning nomination acceptance speech, in 1988?
Roger Ailes.
Do you know what else Mr. Ailes did?
He founded Fox News.
People who create, and people who follow, ideologies like those espoused and promulgated by Fox News are in it for the long haul, and they are not going away.
So in the wake of such intellectual force put in the service of evil, and the mighty hordes that follow them like lemmings, you believe that the right thing to do would be to oust the current President? The one who's a Constitutional professor and scholar? Likely one of the few people in the world who has the temperament to even *deal* with the BS that's flung at him daily?
Who in the almighty universe would you even dream of replacing him with??
