is to do away with them altogether and basically deskill teaching to where it is nothing but a shit pay job paying minimum wage and not requiring any education beyond high school. Kids would be screened out of higher education and even high school by seventh or eighth grade. This is what Lois Weiner has said in her articles about the World Bank's pressure on countries to dismantle public education and deprofessionalize teaching.
After all, these billionaire assholes like Eli Broad and Mike Bloomberg think teaching is SO easy, any idiot should be able to read from a script and do it. Moreover, these assholes have such a low opinion of the workforce they don't believe they should be educated AT ALL beyond basic literacy and math because the vast majority of jobs require little education beyond middle and high school.
This is all about limiting upward mobility. Nothing more and nothing less.

It's absolutely the case that the "Billionaire Boys Club" (Diane Ravitch's term) wants us to follow the World Bank's scenario to deprofessionalize teaching. All we need (for our kids - not theirs, as you point out in your posts) is teachers "good enough" to follow scripted curriculum. In the US that will require (for the time being) a college degree. In so-called developing nations, the bar is lower.
