Congress Has Its Priorities in Order

when it believes it is more important to bail out the banksters than it is to "extend" UI or move filing dates back for EUI for millions of jobless Americans.

The GOP, of course, refuses to do jack shit because they don't want Obama to take the credit for anything, even if Obama is actually a Republican himself.

WSWS:

Senator Dick Durbin (Democrat-Illinois) said on Sunday that unemployment benefits might be included in a future package reauthorizing the tax cuts for the rich, while Senator Robert Casey (Democrat-Pennsylvania) said negotiations to restore benefits could last for weeks, if not months.

In Nevada, which has the nation’s highest unemployment rate, 10,600 people will stop getting benefits by mid-December and a total of 65,000 over the next few months, according to Fox News. In New York State, more than 200,000 are slated to lose extended benefits, according to WNYC. In California, 454,000 could lose their benefits.

The assholes in both political parties really want revolution in this country. They can afford to "work" two weeks out of a month, and then take a fucking month off for "vacation." They can afford to fart around while millions upon millions of people go without.

And when those people go without, businesses hurt, and they in turn have to lay off more people. Self-employment is no answer when nobody has any money to hire anybody.

God damn this Congress to hell. This is a deliberate attempt to drive down wages even further by creating desperation.
