Susan, at this point I am hoping for his defeat in 2012. I can't believe I am saying that about a Democratic president but it is the truth. It is the only hope for Democrats.
Forget about a primary challenge. African American Dems would never support another candidate if Obama was defeated in the primaries. The challenger would be accused of racism.
There is no hope for this guy. It was obvious during the primaries. You, me and Paul Krugman knew it. Too many Dems simply projected their hoped onto him. He was Lincoln, FDR, JFK all rolled into one. Except he was none of those things. His campaign platform was lets all get along. In other words platitudes. There was no there there. This guys got to where he is ingratiating himself to the while political elite. It was impolite to say it.
He is the only president in my lifetime to raise the white flag on the day he was inagurated. Bush stole the 2000 election and yet he acted like the had won a landslide. Obama won a big mandate for change but from day one governed like he was begging the GOP "lets get along". He is irredemeable.
Dems best hope is a big defeat in 2012. The base, which includes bloggers like KOS, Atrios, TPM to do some soul searching and next time ignore the media hype and listen to what the candidates are actually saying. You would be accused of racism.
I am so sick of him I can't see.
I can't believe I am actually nostalgic for Bush and Cheney; Obama is that bad.
