Hundreds remember the slain Placerville principal. Apparently there was some kind of falling out between the principal and janitor, who were said to be friends:




Those who knew both couldn't believe Luebbers could do such a thing.





Later reports said the janitor was fired. The moral of the story is this: NEVER be friends with your boss, especially a school administrator, for he or she can knife you in the back at the stroke of a pen.

Still later reports said the janitor was NOT fired, that LaCara told Luebbers to cool off after they had some kind of disagreement.

Only a person who has utterly no concept of the politics of public education or of the obscene power principals hold over teachers without being held accountable for their actions would push to abolish seniority rules, rules which govern virtually ALL industries, unionized or not.

Teachers put up with so much shit from principals, and they must walk on eggshells so as to not offend them and lose their jobs. By the way, principals can make up firing "for cause," as the hearings are largely rigged affairs.

"Merit" is a bullshit concept as it is and even more so in public education.
