then it is protected speech and she should be able to keep her job.
There are lots and lots of conservative teachers who keep their opinions out of the classroom but are free to express their views elsewhere. There are also lots and lots of liberal teachers who express their views on FB, but you don't hear of a lot of right wing people demanding they be fired for beliefs they don't agree with.
Teachers are public employees, and yes, they are supposed to be protected when expressing their opinions as long as they aren't doing it in their classrooms.
That's one of the reasons tenure existed for public school teachers in the first place.
