It is becoming more outrageous now that a new scandal has erupted, this time from Syracuse U. It appears ESPN was neck deep in the coverup.
More about the Bernie Fine scandal:
Although federal authorities have taken the lead in the investigation - Fine, the former Orange assistant men’s basketball coach, is accused of molesting at least three boys - allegations of the abuse were brought to the Syracuse Police Department’s attention in 2002, according to current police chief Frank Fowler. But Fowler said in his statment Tuesday that an investigation of Fine was never launched then because the statute of limitations had expired.
Bobby Davis, a former Syracuse ball boy, and Davis’ stepbrother, Mike Lang, claim they were molested by Fine more than two decades ago. A third person, Zach Tomaselli, has come forward and claimed that he was molested by Fine in a Pittsburgh hotel in 2002, when Tomaselli was 13.
His wife has denied the authenticity of the taped telephone call, which sounded pretty damning, by the way.
