Blind Blake (in my view the greatest guitarist to ever step in front of a mic), here is a link to a recent article from Blues & Rhythm with some brand-new information:
In Search of Blind Blake
Blake was noted for being one of the few major artists where nothing at all had been known about him apart from his recordings. It wasn't known where he was born and when, if he was married, or when and where he died. That has all changed in recent months. His death certificate was unearthed.
Blake was born in 1896 and died in Wisconsin on December 1, 1934, of pulmonary tuberculosis. He was buried in an unmarked grave.
Excellent article, by the way. I am sure much more will be unearthed about this great.
