It took decades for unions to get laws enacted requiring employers to provide meal breaks and rest breaks during the course of a day. Don't these idiots in New Hampshire even KNOW that hourly workers almost NEVER are paid for their lunch breaks? THAT is why it is standard operating procedure for full-time hourly workers to actually stay an extra half hour or even hour a day at their places of employment.
As for salaried workers, they aren't paid for their time anyway but by the work they do.
I sometimes think there needs to be a standardized test for anyone who runs for public office and they have to pass it before they can run.
Meal breaks aren't even required by federal law. It is up to the individual states, and most don't have such laws on the books.
