Etc.

I hope the turtle outlives the jerk who carved the stuff on his shell:

I know tomorrow is the Kentucky Derby, and I will be watching it live as I have every single Kentucky Derby since 1961.

Lots of articles are here.

I won't be able to buy the Triple Crown glasses for this year and last year until I can get some money together, and that won't be for another month.

I had to sell three vintage Derby glasses the other day to a dealer, which means I was ripped off, but I didn't have any choice. I could someday replace the 1948, 1949, and 1950 glasses, but I sure as hell don't want an SR22 on my auto insurance.

I fucking hate living like this, worrying about every penny I spend, thanks to those assholes who wronged me four years ago. I am not good about raising money from this site, although there is a the button on the left and I have the BlogHer ads, which pay very, very, very little. There are not enough people who read this site who would donate despite the fact there are frankly sites less good than this one where bloggers get donations all the time. I am not a salesperson.

The trouble is there seems to be no end in sight to living like this.

That bullshit case against John Edwards needs to be thrown out.

Edwards' legal team has acknowledged to the jurors that Edwards was a bad husband and a poor father. Its case rests on the contention that Edwards' behavior — while boorish — didn't violate any actual law, said Hampton Dellinger, a legal analyst for NBC News and msnbc.com.

"The government is not very far along in terms of surmounting that hurdle," said Dellinger, an expert in election law. "There has not been a single witness nor piece of documentary evidence that suggests that John Edwards knew or should have known that the money to his mistress constituted a federal election law crime."

And that was only the second major revelation Thursday.

Another former aide, John Davis, testified that Edwards scheduled a conference call in late 2007 to announce his withdrawal from the campaign, but his wife canceled the call even though she knew of the affair. Edwards ultimately dropped out of the race weeks later.

Enough already.
