Paybacks are a bitch, Lance:

UCI's demand for its prize money from Armstrong and teammates implicated in the USADA report represents just the latest financial headache for the Texas-raised cyclist. The Daily News reported earlier this week that SCA Promotions, a Dallas insurance firm, will demand repayment of bonuses the company insured for the disgraced cyclists for his Tour de France wins in 2002, 2003 and 2004, as well as legal fees and interest. SCA will seek at least $12 million, a company source told the News.

Armstrong’s attorney, Tim Herman, said he did not know if Armstrong would respond to UCI’s request to return prize money. “Prize money is awarded to teams, not to individuals, and I have no idea how that would work,” he said. “I don’t know why UCI is pushing other riders to forfeit their prize money.”

Lance seemed like a regular guy when he was broke and unknown, but then something happened.
