WCSD Principal Scandal Update

Nothing new on the status of embattled Moss Elementary School principal Andrew Stansberry, though one can safely assume he will be fired for failing to disclose an arrest and conviction connected with embezzlement of nearly $27,000 from an administrator association fund in Michigan. However, a temporary principal has been put in place, an administrator who has been with WCSD for many years and is in the senior cabinet.

There shouldn't be any ethical issues with Harris; I dealt with him when a sociopath principal wrote me up on a bunch of trumped-up charges in 2007. Although Harris "punished" me with being docked two days' pay, the pay was not only never docked and the admonition was never implemented, but he actually was sympathetic to me. He must have known about this now-disgraced and former principal's rather checkered past at other schools. It's too bad the former chief officer of human resources was an unethical son of a bitch and didn't even bother to find out the facts. I'd probably still be at WCSD or have left on far better terms.

From the article:

The district said Harris was put in this spot because of the sensitive situation and to make sure an experienced administrator was in charge. Harris will be given the task to make sure everything is in order with school operations.

The district said there is no update on the investigation of Stansberry or what might happen long-term at the elementary school in Sparks if he is terminated.

Students will be sent home with a letter from Harris on Monday. Harris said parents who have any concerns should talk to him.
