Former WCSD sup Heath Morrison is now trying to play both sides of the reform movement fence:

Superintendent Heath Morrison of Charlotte-Mecklenburg, North Carolina, said that the national obsession with high-stakes testing had to stop. He said, “we can teach to the top, but we can’t test to the top.” Morrison is president of the American Association of School Administrators.

That last sentence probably isn't true; I think Ravitch mixed up the presidency with the national award Morrison bought for himself.

People love to whine about how $250,000 "isn't that much money" if you live in L.A., S.F., or NYC, but that isn't really true. You can live very nicely, thank you, in those areas, especially New York.
