Forty years later and with some chipping around the edges, Roe v. Wade remains the law of the land:
As if to further bolster the argument that liberalism is having a resurgence in the United States, the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll shows that, for the first time ever, a majority of Americans – 54 percent – now believe abortion should be legal all or most of the time. Even more broadly, a full 70 percent believe that Roe v. Wade – the controversial decision that, 40 years ago, guaranteed a woman's right to an abortion, at least in the first trimester of pregnancy – should not be overturned.
It never will be, at least not outright. What abortion rights activists need to be vigilant about is that "chipping around the edges" being done by some courts and state legislatures making it harder for women to exercise their rights to control their fertility.

The Akron Public Schools Board of Education voted last week to pursue the firing of Melissa Cairns. She's a math teacher at Buchtel Community Learning Center._____
The school district says the photo, posted on Cairn's personal Facebook page, showed 8 or 9 out of her 16 students with duct tape across their mouths. The caption read: "Finally found a way to get them to be quiet!!!" The district says a colleague of Cairns' notified a supervisor of the photo.
It appears an affair was involved prior to the murder-suicide of Dallas Augustine and her spouse.
