One Screwed-Up Country

If anything can be learned about the phony "fiscal cliff" negotiations, which didn't even affect the rich to any great degree anyway since most of their income is unearned, it is that Washington, D.C. politics is completely and totally FUBAR.

It is made worse because there is a fake Democrat in the White House who is even more untrustworthy than Congress.

This is sure true:

This is a result of thirty years of neoliberal politics in both political parties. Although the problems are relatively easy to solve, there is no political will to do the right thing. That is because both of our parties are bought off by the financial elites who employ their lobbyists to write the laws. Our politicians are basically puppets who nine times out of ten don't even READ what in the hell they are voting on. Even if they DO read the bills, they STILL don't know what in the hell they are voting on.

Yep, Obama could run roughshod over these obstructionists, but fat chance he will EVER do it because he is secretly one of them. Any real Democrats left in Congress are afraid to go up against him for fear of disloyalty or whatever stupid criticism would be leveled against them.
