Jodi Arias Trial: Day 25

Today prosecutor Juan Martinez tried to break defendant Jodi Arias down when going over the day of the murder and the aftermath, trying to twist her words or put words in her mouth, but he still didn't succeed in proving Travis Alexander's murder was premeditated.

It was another Epic Fail day.

Martinez finished his cross-examination today. Trial will resume on 10:15 Monday. Presumably Kirk Nurmi will ask more questions of Jodi Arias on redirect.

After cross today, some local stations wanted the court to unseal some records or get a transcript of the closed hearing of a few days ago. The request was denied, at least for now.

Defendant's cross-examination will continue at 10:15 MST today. I am sure prosecutor Martinez will continue to spin his wheels and still be stuck in the debunked stalker theory of the murder of Travis Alexander.

Yesterday prosecutor Martinez left off with the gas cans, license plates, and credit card receipts in an attempt to try and prove premeditation, but none of this does.

Today presumably he will hit on the actual murder itself. I suppose he will wake up the jury and courtroom observers and upset the families involved by showing the crime scene and autopsy photographs.

I am coming to the conclusion Martinez is deliberately throwing this case because he realizes he was a fool for ever believing Travis's friends' nonsense about Jodi Arias being this "obsessed stalker" who would kill somebody because she wasn't invited to go to Cancun with him. He knows he grossly overcharged Arias with this crime.

I will have to say, however, that any friend of Jodi Arias's needs to not talk to the media at all about what she thinks she will get for a verdict. It's really stupid to do that.

Trial can be viewed at the Arizona Republic website, among live streams or can be viewed here on the blog:
