Now We Know Why the WCSD Principal Went on Leave

It had to do with a parental threat. No shit, Sherlock, that sped parents can often "throw their weight around," and there are parents of general population students who are not right in the head and will threaten public officials. School district employees are considered public officials.

Double Diamond Elementary School is NOT a Title I school, by the way. It is located in the more wealthier part of Reno.

A snip of the article about the upcoming court appearance by the parent involved:

The Washoe County School District won’t comment, but in court papers obtained by the Reno Gazette-Journal, Vallier filed a temporary restraining order against Bourquin-Brown and put the school on lockdown after the two discussed the behavior problems of her son, Dylan Brown, 7, on Oct. 3.

The two had a heated discussion that ended when Vallier ended the meeting because of what he called her “elevated volume” and “her past pattern of volatility.”

In Bourquin-Brown’s arrest report, school district police wrote she made threats to the staff after her meeting with Vallier and said, “She was going to have her husband come back and kick the principal’s ass.”

Witness statements say she also told staff they’d better call school police.

Usually it is the teacher who is the subject of the wrath, while the principal can't be relied upon to have the teacher's back.
