Defense continues with its case beginning at 10 a.m. PDT.
Yesterday, Dr. Richard Samuels was on the stand. Prosecutor Juan Martinez tried to muddy the waters quite a bit by trying to paint Samuels, a seasoned psychologist, as incompetent and unethical. I don't think he succeeded, but you never know with that jury, especially a jury that is not sequestered.
Update: Martinez continued with his cross, trying to undercut Samuels, but when defense attorney Jennifer Willmott asked him questions on redirect, she made up whatever ground was lost with Martinez. Samuels came across very well and all of the points Martinez tried to raise were answered, and in a calm manner.
Martinez has a real attitude problem, but then he realizes this isn't a murder one case and overcharged it.
Update 2: There will be more redirect of Dr. Samuels and jury questions. Trial will resume at 1 p.m. tomorrow PDT.
A good site for the day's replays is here.
Trial can be viewed at the Arizona Republic website, among live streams or can be viewed here on the blog:
