Trial resumes at 9 a.m. PDT or thereabouts. Today the defense will present its closing arguments, and later in the day prosecutor Juan Martinez will give his final statement which will include more colorful metaphors like wildebeest migrations, rainbows, and San Franciscan fogs.
I believe the jury will begin deliberations on Monday rather than later today or tomorrow.
Edit: Defense lawyer Kirk Nurmi is doing a great job demolishing every single point the prosecution tried to make regarding premeditation. His main point is this: It doesn't make any sense.
And it doesn't.
The prosecution only rebutted about 45 minutes. I guess after you have had your case completely eviscerated by the defense, you just go through the motions.
I hope the jury will acquit her since there is no evidence of pre-med or manslaughter, but they do have the "out" of manslaughter in order to prevent a hung jury.
The jury is deliberating today. The alternate jurors, 10, 15, and 17, will report Monday. Eight men and four women were selected as jurors.
