Nothing to Brag About

In normal times, a job market this crappy and going on for over five years would be considered a dire national emergency. But with the neoliberal policies fully in place, nobody frankly gives a shit whether people live or die.

The meager growth in payrolls was insufficient to drive down the unemployment rate, which rose to 7.6 percent, up from 7.5 percent in April, according to the monthly jobs report. The report also revised down the April estimate for jobs growth from 165,000 to 149,000.

As significant as the number of jobs added is the fact that the all of the increase is attributable to the growth of service sector jobs, mainly low-wage employment, while goods-producing jobs and government jobs declined.

They are mostly part-time, ten bucks an hour, no benefits.

After all, our workers have to be "competitive" with third world slave labor so the rich can have even more.
