Obituaries

The publisher of the Reno Gazette-Journal is going to look at what to do about the obituary of a woman the surviving children claimed abused her. The paper pulled the obit the other day.

It wasn't a filthy obit; it struck me as being honest.

It's not the first obituary written where the survivors noted the deceased abused them.

This was one that was published about five years ago about another mother from hell.

Car salesman and television icon Cal Worthington, 92, died the other day:

The Oklahoma native founded his first dealership in the late 1940s in Southern California.

As his business empire grew to other western states and Alaska, Worthington starred in a series of TV and radio spots.

The ads featured his “dog” Spot, with animals ranging from tigers to elephants.
