What a load of TFA-oriented propaganda. You HAVE to have the background in theory, pedagogy, and child psychology to even have a remote preparation of what you are faced in the classroom. Teaching is not a Mickey D's job where it should be "on the job" training, unless you don't think teaching is a real profession. BTW, if this "teacher" who co-wrote wrote the article had a clue what he was talking about, he'd know that virtually all teacher preparation programs in this country require much in the way of practicum, observation of teachers, and student teaching.
Furthermore, he has this idea that the "problem" in education is with "bad" teachers, but that isn't it. What we have is a movement to destroy the public sector for private gain.
Since one of the authors is a charter school "teacher," it's a fairly safe bet the guy is a TFA.
