The old notion peddled by the GOP and neolibs that the minimum wage destroys jobs is a bunch of bullshit.
Reich, however, would be wrong in saying that lowering the minimum wage to a dollar an hour or even less would create lots of jobs. It is wrong because job creation is dependent on demand. If people aren't making enough to consume goods and services, then no jobs can be created because there is no demand.

Regardless of what the teacher's intent was, I believe just about every school district in the country requires parental consent before you can take pictures or videos of students. If the kid got stuck, you don't sit around and film it--you get help for the student.
