There shouldn't even be a debate at all over the need for a public education system in the United States. This tells you how far astray American politics has gone over the past 30-35 years, with extremist, anti-democracy, anti-American beliefs being somehow "mainstream" instead of being relegated to the fringes where they belong.
I've got news for the billionaire/neoliberal/gangster class: You are NOT better than I am or anybody else is. Having a pile of money doesn't constitute virtue but more often constitutes "vulture." You need to pay far more in federal, state, and local taxes so that public institutions serving the public good are allowed to continue. You've gotten a free ride for so many years, and it's time to reverse course.
There are no real differences between the two parties anymore because the Democrats have been completely infiltrated by puppets spewing the neoliberal line. It's going to be very rough for the 99 percent of the American people in the near and distant future. Few people realize what has happened.
Going after elected school boards is actually being opposed to the very idea of elections, period
