Despite record numbers of high school students graduating, despite all of the batteries of tests and "standards," the "reformers" will say the reason there are so many graduates is because high school is still "too easy," complete with "grade inflation," and other such bullshit. They will say we need to make "standards" even "tougher" (read inappropriate curriculum) so that more people will fail high school, drop out, and take the grunt jobs that the neoliberals want them to take so we can "compete" with China or Vietnam in a race to the bottom while at the same time limiting higher education access for the masses.
Just you watch.
