Sam, my chihuahua, was having a hard time last week keeping food down. On Sunday, he had one of those hypoglycemic episodes on top of being chilled and throwing up. He was so sick he could hardly move. I took him into the vet's office, where the dog stayed for four days. He was given an IV and antibiotics to fight off a very serious infection. The vets don't know how he got it or why. I truly thought he was going to die.
However, all of his vital signs were good, and eventually the infection has gone away. His temperature is almost back to normal. I have to give him antibiotics for the next ten days on top of his usual heart medications. He has lost some weight from the ordeal.
Anyway, real life has intruded on blogging.
