Obituary: Longtime Illinois GOP congressman Phil Crane, 84, has died of lung cancer. He began his 35-year congressional career in 1969. He was previously a college professor.
Crane was known to be pretty hard right in his politics, but he'd probably be a flaming socialist compared to the bunch of crap that's in Congress now.
Crane ran for president in 1980, but he flopped. He was put out to pasture in 2004 when he lost to a Democrat.
