why it is so rare that police are ever indicted for killing civilians.
It's the nature of the beast of public employment, plus the courts give police a lot of leeway in how they react to perceived dangerous situations with the public.
You just have to hope and pray that the police who patrol your cities and your neighborhoods are highly ethical, mentally stable, not racist people.
