Despite living the life of an invalid, Laura Hillenbrand has managed to carve out a highly successful career as a writer.
She reminds me a bit of 19th century novelist Anna Sewell, who also was confined to her home but somehow penned the famed children's book Black Beauty, a book that had a huge impact on animal welfare during that time.
This piece is highly recommended.
