Former Massachusetts senator Edward Brooke, 95, the first black senator since Reconstruction, has died.
He was a Republican back in the days when most of them were honorable, back before they went totally off the deep end.

Country singer Jimmy Dickens, 94, remembered for ditties like "Let the Bird of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose" has died.
Dickens continued to perform as recently as December 20th.
