From a couple of months ago is this piece by Bob Herbert about how the filthy rich like Bill Gates are sticking their noses into matters for which they are not at all qualified, in this case public education.

Obituary: Actress Anita Ekberg has died. She was immortalized in the Italian film La Dolce Vita where she decided to take a dip in Rome's Trevi Fountain. She played an American actress in the movie.

She damned near froze to death doing that Trevi Fountain scene.

Ekberg was 83 and died after a series of illnesses following breaking her hip a few years ago. She was reportedly living in near-poverty.
