The Board of Trustees for WCSD decided not to even bother conducting a national search for superintendent and instead picked interim sup Traci Davis to be the "permanent" superintendent.
Whether the Board violated the state open meeting law is open to debate.
Two Board members voted against hiring her on the spot initially, but the final vote was 6-1.
Oops: Two hours after the Board approved her appointment, they rescinded it over open meeting law concerns.
