He is nowhere near FDR or LBJ level. He ain't as bad as James Buchanan or Richard Nixon, but that is damning this president with faint praise, indeed. He is more like Bush III.
He is a flop by any objective measure. His education policies, for example, are a complete and total disaster and should have gotten him and Arne Duncan impeached. They completely violated the separation of powers with their abuse of the grant system and their insane mandates. Sorry if I call it out like it is. He is one of those neoliberals who are destroying the country and have overtaken both political parties. Dylan Matthews is just totally full of it by calling this far right politician a "progressive." "Progressives" don't push for ruinous trade agreements. "Progressives" don't push for destroying public education. His health insurance plan is nothing but a gift to corporations while rationing health care to the masses thanks to outrageously high premiums and deductibles. No amount of propaganda changes the truth about this horrible president.
