Another Victory for Teachers

North Carolina's high court has come out in support of post-probationary status--often misnamed "tenure"--for public school teachers:

The NCAE contended that tenure, or career status, was a "contract right" earned by veteran educators that could not be retroactively denied.

A lower court agreed, and our state's highest court today affirmed that conclusion.


However, the status needs to be allowed for newer teachers.
